This is a classic example of a lacquered Chinoiserie Table Lamp dating circa 1930s. The Lamp was in a sorry state when acquired at auction with a thick sticky layer of dirt and lacquer staining to the base. Considerable time was spent cleaning this off, which subsequently revealed gold motives to the base and stem. The resultant finish is a high sheen now showing sharp hand painted decoration.

A short collar has been added to the top to give the correct shade height and a standard BC (bayonet cap) bulb holder fitted. The cable is braided antique gold incorporating a black in line switch and black standard UK three pin plug fitted with a 3amp fuse. The Lamp is cable gripped and has been tested and registered for electrical safety.
