Miniature Brass Diver’s Helmet Lamp
A unique and eye-catching brass table lamp
Originally acquired from a private seller, this fabulous brass diver’s helmet lamp (with yoke and all the features of the real thing) started life as an ornament and has now been crafted into a unique and eye-catching table lamp.
To turn the helmet into a lamp, Mike made a wooden base using a profiling tool and fret saw to create the correct shape for the supporting uprights.
Incorporated into the base is a simple brass flange fitting with a brass coupler and short thread tube to receive a standard brass BC (bayonet cap) bulb holder.
The yoke plate is attached to the base with four brass screws, allowing access to the bulb.
A short length of black pvc cable comes from the base into the air line nozzle of the helmet. This is purely to simulate an air line – it forms no part of the power supply.
And…here it is – a nautically nice twinkling treasure!
